KCKCC to offer "How to Eat Healthy" course

A series of three sessions on “How to Eat Healthy” will be offered at Kansas City Kansas Community College beginning Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Instructed by Dr. Curtis Smith, a KCKCC professor in the Social Science Division, the sessions will be held on consecutive Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. in Room 3617 of the Flint Building on the College campus at 7250 State Avenue.

Offered through KCKCC Continuing Education, the sessions will feature information about how the American diet precipitates the leading causes of death in the U.S.

In addition to learning about the six classes of nutrients and best diet planning principles, participants will learn how to use the choosemyplate.gov website in order to eat healthy and watch and discuss the documentary film, “Forks Over Knives.”

A non-credit course, the cost is $25 and persons may register with credit card payment by phone at 913-288-7660; in person at the Community Education Building (CEB) on the east side of the campus; or on-line at www.kckcc.edu and clicking on Continuing Education and Spring 2012.

The class is located under Community Ed/Health Fitness.
